Scholarships

A list of scholarships is given below. Rowan students have won many of these. Information changes periodically, so check the list frequently.

New Jersey Water Environment Association
Daniel Bigler Scholarship - 1 award of $1,850, open to undergraduates. Louis Fontenelli Scholarship, 1 award of $1,750, open to graduate students. Coordinate with Dr. Jahan.
New Jersey Section, American Water Works Association
Drinking Water Career Scholarship - 1 of $1,500, May application deadline. Open to seniors and graduate students. Coorrdinate with Dr. Jahan
New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts
Memorial Conservation Scholarship - up to 2 of $1,000, October application deadline. Open to New Jersey residents studying in conservation related field, including environmental engineering. Coorrdinate with Dr. Everett.
American Council of Engineering Companies
ACEC Scholarship - up to 5 of $1-2,000, December application deadline. Open to all students who will be juniors or seniors in Fall 05. Rowan students have a very good chance at this scholarship. Coorrdinate with Dr. Cleary.
Women's Transportation Seminar, Philadelphia Chapter
Suzanne Axworthy Undergraduate Scholarship - 1 award of $1,000, November application deadline. Open to women with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who plan to pursue a career in transportation. Also - Carmen E. Turner Graduate Scholarship. Coordinate with Dr. Sukumaran.
Construction Industry Advancement Program of NJ
Audrey Frapaul & Edward O. Davis Memorial Student Summer Employment Scholarship Program –1 award of $5,000, 11 awards of $3,500, 15 of $2,500 (Franklyn Grosso stipend), November application deadline. Current sophomores and juniors, must be employed during the summer by a New Jersey Construction Contractor. Coordinate with Dr. Douglas Cleary.
American Society of Civil Engineers
Samuel Fletcher Tapman Scholarship, ~12 at $2,000, February application deadline. Any year, ASCE student member, money must be used to continue undergraduate education. Freeman Fellowship, $2,000-$5,000, February application deadline. Grant for expenses for experiments, observations, and compilations to discover new and accurate data useful in engineering, emphasis on hydraulic science and art. See website for more information. Daniel W. Mead Contest, 1st place $1000, 2nd $800, 3rd $600, 4th $400, 5th $200, paper may be published in Civil Engineering Magazine, March application deadline. ASCE student member, no more than 2000 word paper on specific topic (see website for topic). See website for more information. Coordinate with professor whose expertise best matches the paper topic. -last updated 9/14/06

Construction Engineering Scholarship and Student Prize, 1 of $?, April application deadline. ASCE student member, money must be used to continue undergraduate education, student must intend to seek employment in the construction industry. See website for more information. Section Student Scholarship, multiple at $2,000, April application deadline. Current Junior, ASCE student member, money must be used to continue undergraduate education. See website for more information. 
 
Association of State Dam Safety Officials
Dam Safety Scholarship Program, multiple at up to $5,000, March application deadline. Senior standing next year, U.S. citizen, 2.5 GPA or better, recommendation of advisor, and essay. See website for more information. 
National Society of Professional Engineers

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, $7,500, February application deadline. Current Junior or Senior in Math, Natural Science, or Engineering with GPA 3.0 or higher. 
American Society of Highway Engineers

William Reeves Memorial Scholarship, multiple at $2,500, March application deadline. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing, resident of Atlantic, Burlington, Cumberland, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Mercer, Ocean, or Salem Counties. 

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Foundation
Structural Engineering Traveling Fellowship, one at $10,000, November nomination deadline, January application deadline, For Undergraduate or Graduate students graduating in the academic year, Award is for travel to structural engineering sites and application must include a travel itinerary. We can only nominate two students from Rowan. See website for more information.
