Biography:
Greg Porter serves as Principal Architect at Sev1Tech, where he has played a pivotal role since October 2021. In this capacity, he leads the company’s Artificial Intelligence initiatives and drives strategic advancements in Digital Twin and Digital Thread technologies. Prior to joining Sev1Tech, Mr. Porter held the position of Senior Systems Architect at Geocent—an information technology and engineering services firm based in Metairie, Louisiana—until its acquisition by Sev1Tech on October 15, 2021. Mr. Porter brings over 15 years of progressive experience in systems architecture, big data, and enterprise technology solutions. His expertise spans data science, large-scale Hadoop cluster deployment, and secure infrastructure design, having previously served as a Senior Big Data Administrator at Honeywell FM&T, where he was instrumental in delivering resilient, scalable Big Data platforms across mission-critical environments.
A recognized innovator in the field, Mr. Porter has received multiple accolades for technical excellence, including three Sev1Tech Excellence Awards (Technical Innovation and Engineering) , and the Geocent Excellence in Technical Innovation Award. He has been spotlighted in technical.ly’s “How I Got Here” series, co-authored a chapter in the book titled Digital Twins, Simulation, and the Metaverse, authored many published papers, and has been featured on multiple podcasts.
Additionally, Mr. Porter is a member of the Steering Committee for the Digital Twin Consortium and co-leads the organization’s joint Artificial Intelligence Working Group, contributing to the development of industry standards and best practices in digital twin integration with AI-driven systems.
Educationally, Mr. Porter holds a Master of Science in Data Analytics and a Bachelor of Science in IT Administration, both from Western Governor’s University, along with an Associate's Degree in Networking Engineering from Southwestern Community College. He maintains 15 professional IT certifications, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and technical mastery.
