Abstract:

Advanced manufacturing systems are becoming increasingly capable with respect to integrated sensing technologies, adaptive process controls, and machine architecture that is enabling a range of feature and process aware approaches that were previously intractable. Looking forward systems will leverage these advancements coupled with connected computational tools to improve processing time, manufacture increasingly complex geometry, and enable a wider range of data and simulation driven components to be produced. This work presents on enabling technology and approaches developed for DMG MORI’s next generation advanced manufacturing systems with a specific focus on DMG MORI’s Additive Manufacturing technology, the LASERTEC 30 SLM US.
