Biography

Essa Al Amiri graduated from Ohio University in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, alongside a minor in Mathematics. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning a place on the Dean’s List and receiving the Outstanding Research Award.

Driven by a passion for material behavior and non-destructive testing, Essa pursued his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio University, graduating in June 2024. His thesis, "Sound-Based Non-destructive Evaluation to Detect Damage in Lithium-Ion Batteries," focused on pioneering acoustic emission techniques for assessing battery integrity, contributing to innovations in sustainable energy storage.

Now, as a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, Essa’s research interests encompass mechanical testing, digital image correlation, acoustic emission, and sustainability, with a particular focus on renewable energy and battery technologies.
