Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Institute (AMMI)

AMMI is built upon Rowan University’s successes in materials-centric research collaborations with a host of federal agencies and industrial partners.  The mission of AMMI is to advance fundamental and applied science and engineering technology related to materials and manufacturing with the vision to responsibly utilize nature’s chemistries, both renewable and fossil reserves, to enhance material performance and improve our global sustainability.  We strive to accomplish our mission and vision through a diverse working environment that educates and trains the next generation of holistically thinking scientists and engineers.

Message from the Director

Welcome to the Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Institute (AMMI) at Rowan University. We are home to Rowan’s Cold Spray Laboratory and other state-of-the-art materials focused labs.

Research

Our research spans the fundamental to applied spectrum with projects in areas such as 3D printing, polymers, composites, energy materials, and sustainable development.

Services

AMMI offers a wide range of materials testing, prototyping, and device fabrication services through fee-for-service, fixed price, engineering clinic, and research agreements.

Personnel

People of AMMI include the director, affiliated faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, and an industrial advisory board.

Facilities

AMMI’s facilities include dedicated labs and offices at the South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University, the Cold Spray Lab in Rowan Hall, and labs associated with affiliated faculty.

Job Opportunities

With a growing portfolio of projects within AMMI, postdoctoral fellows, graduate research fellows, and research scientist positions are potentially available.
