Credit for Prior Learning
In addition to transfers from other accredited colleges and universities, credit toward the degree may be awarded for prior work and experience. One of the particular aspects of this program will be for students to be able to convert into credits part of their working experience through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). Rowan University accepts assessments of credits by external agencies including College Level Examination Placement (CLEP), Advanced Placement (AP), and through the New Jersey Prior Learning Assessment Network agreement, Thomas Edison State College. Rowan University is an American Council on Education (ACE) member institution and participates in the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) program. For students seeking degree completion, students are referred to an academic department advisor for concurrence and academic advisement.
