Change of major information for the following B.S. programs: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Engineering Entrepreneurship, and Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum GPA for consideration (in required and cumulative coursework):
  • 3.0 for BME, CHE, CE, ECE, E-SHP
  • 3.4 for ME
• Minimum GPA (in required and cumulative coursework) for automatic acceptance:
  • 3.3 for CE, ChE, ECE, E-SHP
  • 3.5 for BME
  • 3.6 for ME

Applicants who meet minimum requirements for consideration but do not meet automatic admission criteria will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

• In-progress courses must be completed prior to a decision.
• Decisions will be made after final semester grades are posted.

Course requirements are applicable to all engineering majors, with some exceptions. See major-dependent requirements as indicated in parenthesis below.

• Calculus I and II*
• Introductory Mechanics
• Intro Electricity & Magnetism (ChE, ECE and ME¹)
  • ¹or Calculus III (MATH 01230)
• Chemistry I* (not required by ECE)
• Chemistry II (BME and ChE)
• Computer Science & Programming (ECE)
• Intro Programming/Prob Solving (BME and CE) 

Change of major information for B.S. program in Electrical Engineering Technology:

• Minimum GPA for consideration is 2.9
• Minimum GPA (in required and cumulative coursework) for automatic acceptance is 3.2

• PHYS 00.210 Physics I (or PHYS 00220/PHYS L0220)
• PHYS 00.211 Physics II (or PHYS 00.222 Intro Electricity & Magnetism)
• Computer Science & Programming (CS 04.103) or Intro to Object Oriented Programming (CS 04.113)

*Course has placement-testing requirements. Please work with your academic advisor for placement testing information.

Applications are open each semester as follows (applications will not be accepted outside of these dates):

• For Fall admission, applications accepted between February 1 - May 1
• For Spring admission, applications accepted between October 1 - December 1
