Internal Transfers
Are you a Rowan student interested in switching to Engineering?
Rowan students interested in applying for a change of major to Engineering, please see the following requirements:
- Complete courses listed below for the engineering major selected; courses should be complete, or in progress, at time of application.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for consideration; automatic admission is granted to students who complete the required courses and have a 3.5 GPA in required and cumulative coursework. Applicants who do not meet automatic admission criteria will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- All decisions are made after final semester grades are posted.
Courses listed are applicable to all engineering majors. Additional major-dependent requirements are indicated in parenthesis.
- Composition I
- Calculus I and II*
- Introductory Mechanics – lecture and lab (PHYS 00220/PHYS L0220)
- Intro Electricity & Magnetism (ChE and ECE)
- Chemistry I* (not required by ECE)
- Chemistry II (BME and ChE)
- Computer Science & Programming (ECE)
- Intro Programming/Prob Solving (BME and CEE)
*These courses have placement testing requirements; work with your academic advisor for placement testing information.
Applications are open each semester as follows (applications will not be accepted outside of these dates):
- For Fall admission, applications accepted between February 1 - May 1
- For Spring admission, applications accepted between October 1 - December 1
