Dr. Alexandria Muller is an educational scholar interested in understanding how educators foster a sense of belonging and STEM identity for students across various age groups and learning environments. She received her B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona where she also worked at Biosphere 2 as a marine science researcher and educational outreach specialist. Here she became committed to understanding how informal and formal educational systems are structured to support diverse learners for success and encourage a STEM identity. She completed her M.A. and PhD in Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara under the advisement of Dr. Danielle Harlow. She researched sense of belonging and identity development in K-12 schools, museums, after school programs, and undergraduate and graduate programs. As a postdoctoral fellow at Rowan University, she is now turning her attention to faculty in Engineering Departments, particularly those who support first-year engineering programs. Beyond research, Dr. Muller enjoys west coast swing dancing, scuba diving, and going on adventures with her dog, Solar.
