FAQs
What is the difference between RISE JR, RISE MS, and RISE?
Our Rise JR program is for rising 4th and 5th grade students. In this workshop, we primarily focus on introducing engineering with a more elementary-based curriculum. No experience with engineering is necessary! RISE MS is a summer workshop for rising middle school students. In this program, we focus on hands-on learning through engineering projects & demonstrations. No experience with engineering is necessary! Our final program, RISE, is for rising 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders. As our most challenging workshop, RISE features laboratory clinics, exciting engineering activities, campus & industry tours, and mentoring by Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering professors and students. RISE participants must apply and be accepted to the program.
Are the programs residential camps?
No. Our summer programs are typically four-day, non-residential camps.
When is RISE?
RISE will run July 25, 26, and 27, 2023 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.
Will the 2023 Summer Camps be virtual or in-person?
In-person. Our goal is to have on-campus camps this coming summer. Of course, we will strictly follow all COVID-19 procedures and protocols. This all depends on the state of our world, but we anxiously wait and prepare to see our future engineers in person!
How many applicants are you accepting?
20. The Henry M. College of Engineering plans on accepting about 20 students to RISE.
Where are the summer camps located?
RISE located in The Henry M. College of Engineering. We rotate between Rowan Hall and Engineering Hall to allow students to get the most of what we can offer.
When do applications open and close?
Open: Early 2023
Close: May 15th, 2023
Confirmation and acceptance emails will shortly follow.
How much do each of the camps cost?
$200
We do our best to make each camp affordable and reasonable for all. Cost is calculated on what materials and resources are needed to give each child the most enriching experience. If payment is not received by the due-date, the student’s spot will be opened up to another candidate on the waiting list.
