Chemical Engineering Lab Safety Awards
The Department of Chemical Engineering recognizes excellence in laboratory safety with the Marvin L. Harris and Laboratory Operations Safety Awards. The Marvin L. Harris Safety Award recognizes laboratory safety excellence in undergraduates and the Laboratory Operations Safety Award recognizes graduate laboratory personnel. The Department’s focus is to continuously improve its safety culture throughout all its operations. This includes adherence to Departmental safety protocols through clear and intelligent safety policies and recognition of safety excellence. Each Safety Award includes a prize of $500. The criteria for nomination and recipient selection are described below.
Marvin L Harris Safety Award
Chemical engineering undergraduate students with no safety violations are eligible. Click to learn more.
