HiT Nano DOE Grant
HiT Nano DOE Grant
Drs. Lau and Stanzione team up with battery company, HiT Nano, on DOE grant to pursue high performance battery materials
Drs. Ken Lau and Joe Stanzione are partnering with HiT Nano, a battery company located in Bordentown, NJ, to pursue higher capacity and longer lasting battery cathode materials. HiT Nano possesses a unique aerosol spray manufacturing technology that produces cathode materials with lower energy consumption, manufacturing complexity, capital cost, chemical intensity, CO2 emissions, and environmental impact.
The goal is to scale up the process to commercial volume production while engineering the proper electrode-electrolyte interfacial properties that would enhance cathode capacity and lifetime. The $200k grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy over a period of three years, will support the training of undergraduate, graduate, and community college student teams on battery technology and manufacturing.
