Dahm NSF Grant

ChE faculty receives new NSF grant to develop effective strategies to teach and assess engineering ethics

Dr. Kevin Dahm teams up with researchers at the University of Connecticut, University of Pittsburgh, and New Jersey Institute of Technology on a new NSF collaborative grant. The three-year project with UConn as lead totals $750K, with $125K to Rowan.

The grant aims to understand, through digital gaming and narratives, how students make ethical judgments, and using data science, including machine learning and large language models, to develop a scalable tool for teaching and assessing ethical judgments.

A narrative choose-your-own adventure style digital game called "Mars! An Ethical Expedition" that was developed for this project will be used to engage students.
