ChE faculty receives new NJEDA CSIT R&D Voucher to develop hemp-based polymer composites with HempNTech
Led by Dr. Joe Stanzione, Director of Rowan’s Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Institute (AMMI), AMMI will assist HempNTech, Inc. in fundamentally understanding the processing-structure-property relationships of their patented and proprietary hemp-based polymeric composites such that they can strategically make informed decisions about their manufacturing processes and applications of their products.
To accomplish this overarching goal, the project will utilize AMMI's suite of processing and characterization capabilities to acquire critical data on HempNTech's high-performing hemp-based polymeric composite formulations. Testing will include mechanical, thermo-mechanical, and thermogravimmetric analyses to derive performance data for developing the processing-structure-property relationships.
This 12-month project is supported by a $40K CSIT R&D Voucher from the NJEDA. The NJ Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology (CSIT) through its R&D Voucher Program aims to stimulate collaboratios between early-stage companies with universities and government labs.
