Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering (Ph.D.)
The Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Engineering in the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering (HRCOE) emphasizes intensive, novel research within a flexible graduate curriculum with a core focused on technical fundamentals. With faculty-mentored biomedical research, students are trained to use engineering approaches to solve a novel contemporary biomedical problem in areas including biomaterials engineering, tissue engineering, biomechanics, biomedical robotics, drug delivery, biomolecule detection, and other emerging areas. The Ph.D. program combines fundamental and elective coursework with an intensive research experience. Some doctoral students pursue internships at private companies, startups or other academic laboratories during the course of their studies.
