Dr. Sebastian Vega Selected as a 2022 Young Innovator in Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering
Each year, the editorial board of the journal Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering (CMBE) selects the top innovators conducting research in cellular and molecular bioengineering. Each awardee is early in their career and has made significant advancements with high potential to have future impact to the field. Awardees are invited to submit a new manuscript to the journal’s special innovators issue and to present their work in a special platform session at the 2022 Biomedical Engineering (BMES) Society Annual Meeting. Founded in 1968, BMES is the premier professional society for biomedical engineering and bioengineering. The CMBE journal is an official journal of BMES and ranked among the biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology subject categories. It publishes original research that advances the study and control of mechanical, chemical, and electrical processes of the cell. Dr. Vega, an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, conducts research in the fields of regenerative medicine and advanced regenerative biomaterials.
