A BME faculty selected as a finalist of Science Center's QED program

12/16/16 - Dr. Mohammad Abedin Nasab, Visiting Research Assistant Professor, Dept of Biomedical Engineering, was one of 11 finalists of this year’s QED Program of the Science Center. Final presentations were yesterday and teams were competing for $200K in funds to develop their business. Dr. Abedin Nasab’s team is spinning out his cutting edge research in medical robotics producing ROBOSSIS an Orthopedic Surgical Robot. The QED Proof-of-Concept Program provides business development support for academic researchers developing early-stage life science and healthcare IT technologies. The key goal is to retire the business risk in these early-stage projects, increasing their attractiveness to follow-on investment by established life science companies and private investors.
