Rich Curriculum
The undergraduate program emphasizes a hands-on, practice-based approach to provide a broad engineering education in mechanical engineering. Our graduates are well prepared for professional careers, advanced studies in mechanical engineering, or graduate studies in professional fields such as business or law. The program offers strategic partnerships between industries, government agencies and teams of Rowan faculty and students to solve contemporary engineering problems and conduct cutting-edge research. Rowan also offers a Master of Science program and a Doctor of Philosophy program.
Student Life
With 150 student clubs and organizations there are plenty of ways to get involved on campus. Several engineering organizations will give you the opportunity to meet other engineering majors, learn more about the profession, hear from visiting speakers and have fun. Some of the organizations include:
- American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
- Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
- Engineers without Borders (EWB)
- Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
- Tau Beta Pi-National Engineering Honor Society
- American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
Visit Proflink for a full list of clubs.
Leadership in Mechanical Engineering
All full-time mechanical engineering faculty have a Ph.D. and are active in their fields. Some of the professors who will teach you include:
- The chairpersons of the American Society for Engineering Education's Mechanical Engineering Division and Mechanics Division
- Recipients of several United States patents
- A recipient of the Ralph Teetor Educational Award from the Society of Automotive Engineers
- A recipient of the Ferdinand Beer and Russell Johnston Outstanding New Mechanics Educator Award from the American Society for Engineering Education
- A recipient of the Mara H. Wasburn Early Engineering Educator Grant from the Women in Engineering Division of ASEE
- A recipient of the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award
