WaterWorks Activities
WaterWorks is a package of tools and lessons to assist educators and to help expose students to potential careers in water/wastewater utilities work. With new technological advancements, these new careers are heavily varied from what students might expect, and the thought process and skills required have changed over time.
To engage students in lessons, WaterWorks includes conventional hands-on activities that teach students new ideas in a fun and engaging way. WaterWorks also includes mobile apps that give students immersive, virtual lab experiences without the need for special facilities or equipment.
WaterMOBILE
WaterMOBILE is a hands-on mobile learning environment that will be steered into classrooms to give
exciting and engaging demonstrations to students. With WaterMOBILE, students will learn about the function of pumps and pipes, how to remove pollutants from water, and how new sewer pipes are constructed.
WaterPAL
WaterPAL is a mobile app designed to support students and educators when giving lessons on wastewater treatment, water utility work, and other related topics. For teachers, WaterPAL gives easy access to lessons, hands-on activities, and demonstrations for students from 2nd to 12th grade.
WaterTALK
WaterTALK is an online experience driven by Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Nowadays, water treatment workers often monitor important equipment remotely. WaterTALK reflects this shift, allowing students to remotely monitor a small-scale water experiment. Students can interact with the experiment remotely to explore.
WaterCAVE
WaterCAVE - The Virtual Reality (VR) Center at Rowan University is an enterprise funded by government (Federal and State) and industry (local, national and international). It consists of a team of experts who develop innovative virtual reality and augmented reality applications.
