Engineering Clinics
Engineering Clinics
Engineering Clinics
Clinics deliver the following goals of the engineering curriculum:
- Hands on - Students apply what they are learning about.
- Integrated - Demonstrate correlations with supporting course work.
- Multidisciplinary - Involve students as a community of problem solvers.
- Teamwork - Emphasize the advantage of effective teaming.
- Communication - Develop excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial - Reinforce value-based engineering.
- Contextual - Help students understand the big picture.
Background & Partners
Engineering Clinic is taken each semester by every engineering student at Rowan University.
First-Year & Sophomore Clinics
First-year Engineering Clinics (FEC) focus on engineering’s place in society and fundamental engineering skills.
Junior & Senior Clinic Program
In Junior and Senior Engineering Clinic (JSEC), students work in small teams on real world projects.
PIPES Program
The department offers the PIPES (Professional Industrial Partnership Engagement for Students) program in which students can enroll for their junior/senior engineering clinics with an external engineering firm in lieu of a faculty led project.
